Application

The MSc Epidemiology and Epidemiology Postgraduate start yearly in September. Application deadlines can be found on the Utrecht University site. The language of instruction is English. Application and tuition fees are different for MSc Epidemiology and Epidemiology Postgraduate.

Entry criteria

A bachelor (Epidemiology) or master (Epidemiology postgraduate) degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences, Medicine,  Veterinary Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a degree from a university in or outside the Netherlands comparable to the Dutch degrees indicated above. Students need knowledge of basic medical terminology, explicit interest in applied (bio)medical research and affinity with one of the domains of specialisation, good grades for quantitative subjects (mathematics / statistics / epidemiology) in prior studies (minimally B-level), and proficiency (written and spoken) in English.

Tuition fee MSc Epidemiology (for students with a bachelor degree)

For students from the Netherlands, from an EU (European Union) / EEA (European Economic Area) country, from Suriname or Switserland, or students receiving a UAF grant, tuition fee for the academic year 2011-2012 is 1,713 euro. The tuition fee for 2012-2013 will be announced in December 2011.

For students from non-EU / non-EEA countries, tuition fee for the academic year 2011-2012 is 17,500 euro .

Tuition fee MSc Epidemiology Postgraduate (for students with a master degree)

For the postgraduate programme we ask a one-time tuition fee for the total programme. For 2011-2012, this is 26,250 euro (1.5 times 17,500 euro). There are possibilities for a reduction of this tuition fee, please contact msc-epidemiology@umcutrecht.nl. Student are allowed to be registered for maximally 3 years, based on this one-time tuition fee.
